jesse

Jesse has been a practicing youth worker for over 6 years. He has also been a stand-up comedian for about the same amount of time.
His educational background began in Social Service work until recently, when he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. As a youth worker, Jesse was able to work alongside and support individuals with diverse life experiences. Some of these experiences included working with young people who have been struggling with mental health challenges, specifically depression and anxiety. In addition, he collaborated with youth's families and natural support systems to help strengthen their existing relationships or work toward developing healthier ones. Over time, he acquired the skills necessary to work from a trauma-based and client-centered approach.
Being a comedian, Jesse believes humour not only has the ability to bring laughter, but also has the power to heal. An essential part of working with young people is being able to form connections and build healthy relationships. Nothing brings people closer together than a good joke. That's what makes Jesse's approach to this work so unique as it is a combination of both his professional as well as his unique personal skillset.
